A Blissful Childhood Recalled

The flat rock provided the perfect surface for the newly acquired adult colouring book.
As she shaded patterns she was transported to her happy childhood. Completely preoccupied, the recent horrors were kept at bay.

She recalled her mother sitting with her while she coloured. Love emanated from her mum and she felt safe in the reflection. As she concentrated on her task, she felt the agony gently easing.

He had been detained, she knew, but ridding herself of the anxiety he created was impossible. Immersion in a recreation helped, but it was only a brief respite. She could never forget.
