PHOTO PROMPT © J Hardy Carroll
After the earlier activity with the flowers arriving, the hair-dos, make-up and at long last wearing the dress for real, it seemed suddenly quiet.
Alone with Dad in the home where I grew up, he chatted to fill the silence.
“I’ve just got one more thing to say,” he told me.
“Oh blimey dad, it’s a bit late for the ‘birds and bees’ and I am not backing out now if that’s what you’re about to say,” I thought.
But, what he said next was neither of those things;
“When it gets to the hymns, please for Gawd’s sake mime!”
