PHOTO PROMPT © Rochelle Wisoff-Fields
“How do you stick it in this horrible flat?”
“This is my home Karen. If you don’t like it, don’t visit!”
“But you used to live in such a fabulous house. Don’t you miss it?”
“I think about what I have, instead of what I don’t have.”
“And what would that be… exactly?”
“My independence,” she smiled appreciatively. “Possessions without happiness have no value.”
Justine realised her friend would probably never ‘get it’.
“Wealth isn’t about belongings. If you have love, good health and contentment, you are richer than the glitterati.”
Karen looked sceptical.
Justine gave up trying to explain.

Dear Clare,
Justine appears to be the richer of the two. Well done.

Poor Karen, she has a hard lesson to learn. Justine is wise. A thoughtful story.

Not everyone needs to live the same way. There’s peace in a stressless life.
